In a sudden move, the EU announced imposing sanctions – among other 3 Sudanese national companies – on Zadna International Investment Company Limited.
Zadna is not belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces. It belongs to the Sudanese people and is working mostly in agricultural investment to achieve food security to Sudan and the region as well.
In the recent few years, Zadna managed to revive the agricultural production sector and was planning to cultivate 600 thousands acres of wheat this season.
Zadna also contributed in developing the food processing industries.
The EU decision of imposing economic sanctions on Zadna represents a hard punishment to the Sudanese people who are suffering the US unilateral sanctions since 1993.
The sanctions will not affect the warring parties, but it will increase the suffering of the Sudanese people and might lead to famine that threatens millions of innocent Sudanese citizens.
