General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces

Press Statement

Tuesday, May 7, 2024

Recently, a shocking video appeared on social media showing two people removing a dead person’s entrails and dismembering them in a gruesome manner.

The Al Dagalo terrorist militia media and their aides tried to attribute this crime to the armed forces and claim that the perpetrators of it were among our soldiers. These are miserable attempts that did not deceive our proud people, who met these attempts with ridicule and disbelief due to their knowledge of their armed forces, which throughout their long history have adhered to the laws and customs of war and rules of engagement, unlike the Al Dagalo militia, which the whole world witnessed for its barbaric practices and their violation of any law, custom or human values, which affected military and civilians alike, killing prisoners in cold blood and looting citizens’ property, forced detention of people who have nothing to do with the fighting, the rape of women and minors, the burial of the dead alive, and the mutilation of the bodies of the martyrs, as evidenced by their heinous crimes in Darfur, Kordofan, Khartoum, Madani, and the villages of Gezira state, where these violations have not stopped until this moment.
The Sudanese Armed Forces also confirm that those who appeared in the video have no connection to any of the components of the Battle of National Dignity, including troops and mobilized personnel, and do not wear any of the forces’ uniforms, which confirms that it is a poorly staged play made by the militia and its allies, and it is not the first since the beginning of this war, the fires of which they have ignited and prepared for since. long time.
Your armed forces renew their commitment and strict adherence to international humanitarian law and the norms governing war as professional national forces that do not want to be dragged behind the practices and lies of the Al-Dagalo militia and its allies.
